Lonestar began in 1992 as a band named Texassee—five guys from Texas who moved to Nashville to make it big. After a lot of hard work, relentless touring, brilliant songwriting and timely song choices, their wish came true. For nearly a decade straight, Lonestar was a fixture on country radio. Between 1996 and 2004, the band landed nine number-one hits on the country music charts, including “No News,” “Come Cryin’ to Me,” “Smile,” “I’m Already There,” and “My Front Porch Looking In.”

Perhaps the band’s most successful single was “Amazed,” released in 1999, which was number one on the country charts for eight weeks and went to the top of the Billboard Hot 100—the first country song to do so since “Islands in the Stream” in 1983. “Amazed” and “My Front Porch Looking In” were the top country songs of 1999 and 2003, respectively. Over their lengthy career, three of the band’s albums reached platinum status.
