Osage Casino Hotel Tulsa is thrilled to present Grammy®– and Academy Award®-winning singer/songwriter Melissa Etheridge, live in concert at Skyline Event Center on Friday, April 24.
With her instantly recognizable smoky, raspy voice, Etheridge introduced herself to the rock world in 1988 with a critically acclaimed, self-titled debut album, which earned her an invitation to appear on the 1989 Grammy Awards. Three years later she was back at the same show collecting her first Grammy for “Ain’t It Heavy.”
The prolific, hardworking artist became a household name with the release of her fourth album, Yes I Am (1993), which featured massive hits “I’m the Only One” and “Come to My Window,” which rewarded Etheridge with a second Grammy, this time for Best Female Rock Per formance. Her long, stellar career is highlighted by other significant accolades, including Songwriter of the Year at the ASCAP Pop Awards in 1996 and an Academy Award for Best Song, “I Need to Wake Up,” in 2007.
